museum of Mevlana
Mevlana Museum is a museum that has been operating since 1926 in the building complex that was formerly Mevlana's dervish lodge in Konya. It is also known as "Mevlana Tomb". The Green Dome, or Mevlana's tomb, was built on four thick columns (elephant feet). Since then, the structure has expanded with various additions at different dates. The fact that some of the Ottoman sultans were from the Mevlevi sect ensured that the Tomb was given special importance and was well protected. While the museum area was 6,500 m² including its garden, the area was expropriated and reached 18,000 m² with the sections arranged as the Rose Garden. It is said that the hub of the fountain built by Selim I, located in the garden of the museum, was given as a gift by the GermiyanoÄŸulları Principality. Before it became free, it was the second most income-generating museum for the Ministry of Culture, to which it is affiliated. [citation needed] In Ahmed Eflaki's book "Arifler's Legends", in which legends about Mevlana are told, the sultan of the period who wanted to have a tomb built for Mevlana's father was asked "from the dome of the sky" It is reported that he said, "Since you can't do anything more magnificent, don't bother." The tomb was built after Mevlana's death. Among the valuable works in the museum are Mevlana's sarcophagus, puÅŸîde (Mevlana's grave cover), Mesnevi, and Nisan bowl. The museum, where Mevlana's life from birth to death is told, also includes the tombs of Mevlana and his family members.
